Reprogrammed ECU's (Question for Bill)

Is there anyone around here that reprograms for a decent amount of money, or at least makes it worthwhile. If someone wants to take me for a couple hundred bucks per reprogram, then they should be putting my car up on a dyno to see what kinda of numbers should really go into my car since common knowledge states that every single car is different.
Just curious about this new (to me at least) stance on reprograms. Thanks, and I hope everything else is going good with you guys over at I Speed.

We still use and like the LINK. The big plus is that we are tuning nuts and we can tune in real time.
I now have the ECUTEK in my OBS. Yes, we DO relflash ECUs. Anyway, The car is a lot smoother and the stock computer can dial in things which we stupid humans cannot
We have, been toying around ALOT with both modules and found them both to be good at what they do.
Which one should you get? well, if you are a control and tuning dork go link.
If you want to get in and just drive the dam car...get the ECUtek.
Swing by on sat (http://www.i-speedusa.com/cgi-bin/ik...t=ST;f=11;t=40 ) for the install fest and get a ride in the OBS. You did ride in it before with the LINK right?

Hey Alan,
Well we at I-Speed still use the Link Plus if people still want to mess with there cars and many people do suprisingly. Many people out there think they knwo how to make it faster and better than anyone else. I will even say, I am by far not the best tuner in the world by any means, but I really enjoy it for some odd reason.
Anyway I do like the ECUTek as it uses the stock ECU (1), (2) it has a lot of fail safe mechanisms in it, unlike any other aftermarket unit on the market. The stock ECU is by far better then anything out there. The adjusability is so vast it is amazing everything they put into this unit.
So compared to just about anything the stock ECU is far superior. How you harness this potential is the next question, and that is where the ECUtek comes into play, and some other company's that are trying to follow the same lines. Though one thing about the ECUtek is the software is incredible for a tuner, basically bug free and for the most part easy to use. Though there is a LOT of information and maps.
For the WRX I personally think this is the best soltuion so far and will be very hard to beat. As for the RS or RS-T thre is no real King of the hill, but I use the Link Plus because it si reliable, easy to use, easy to install and has a long reputation behind it.
As for pricing, e-mail me and we will see what we can do for you. Oh yeah one more thing to note. We were able to make 25 more horsepower with the ECUTek on a BONE stock WRX within only a few hours of tuning.
Chris's car is also using the ECUtek on his OBSSS (super sport) with an ION Turbo, 565 injectors, turbo back, and uppie and it feels so damn stock. No aftermarket ECU can give you this that i know of and that is what people want correct me if I am wrong?
Cheers

Hey Bill...
Sorry for this late *** response. I was notified when Chris first responded but never got any other notifications after that. I didnt skip out on responding to Chris' post to take away from his ability or knowledge, however what you said requires more of a response.
You're right. When it comes down to it what I as a driver want is reliability to an extreme level. I like speed, but the car feels decent stock, so at that point I have to weigh out which is more important to me, 10 horsies or a flawless start up on cold and hot mornings alike.
I think it's about time for me to stop by at the installfest again. It's been a long time since I came by anyways. We can discuss what the pricing for these ECU reflashes will be like and what the tuning charge will be.
Thanks for taking the time to respond (yeah you too Chris) and sorry for my laggy response. I'm pretty sure I'll be seein you gents on Saturday.
