PROecm chip makes your car run hotter?
I want to get some sort of piggyback chip and this seems to be the best bet, however, I've heard your car runs quite a bit hotter than normal when running this particular chip. Or is it any chip?
Has anybody had first hand experience with this or is it just another one of those myths that got spread through the net?
I want some extra power but don't want to kill my car in doing so...

It looks like it is running Hotter.
The PROECM chip is not running hotter, it just look likes it is running hotter. The Thermostat in your car is Mechanical and is not changed.
So the Temperature of the cooling system is still the same.
Only the fan is influenced, because the van of newer cars are triggered by the ECM.
