Okay guys. Which ecu to get. My motor will be done monday.

okay guys. i need to know what to get. i have been searching near and far and have seen pretty much all of the ecu options for my car. for those who dont know my set up, this is what i am running. i have changed a few things, but mostly it remains the same:

ej22 block
ej25 crank
over sized ductile sleaves
forged internals
fully ported and polished heads
4-2-1 turbo manifold
custom turbo piping and exhaust piping
t-66 turbo
blitz front mount
tail blow off valve and 40mm wastegate
sti tvg housings
Power enterprise 800 cc injectors
perrin fuel rails
aeromotive fuel pressure regulator

i am sure i am missing stuff but i can't remember

i know everyone is going to jump and say to get a stand alone ecu, but is it absolutely necessary. isn't it possible to get similar results as a stand alone with a utec, or unichip, or other type. from what i have learned is that the factory ecu runs the best, and if you could modify it for performance yet keep its reliability and smoothness than it would be best. what makes a stand alone ecu better than the utec or unichip or link. since i dont like link i am not even considering it. i am basically thrown between a few different ecu's:

microtec

utec

autronic

xede

as far as prices go they are not very far off from eachother.

microtec i can get for $1000, utec is about $1000, and autronic is $1600. xede $800-1000. to me thats close enough.

i have heard great things about all three. all three can do all of the same exact things. the benifts of the utec and xede is that you get all of the nice factory things like a/c and some other things that i dont even know of, but they are there.

the benifits of the others are that it is what?

i dont know so you tell me.

With the right tuner behind it, ANY standalone will be smooth. I dont see why you dont want to consider the LINK.
