Because I'm such a sarcastic jackass, I am going to post this photochop I made all by myself, rather than putting forth any effort to help you.

Or should I buy things put out by Subaru? I know nothing about The Subaru (most cars for that matter), but have heard nothing but EXCELLENT things- please help!
Exhaust good, intake helpful (a little), pulleys, headers and highflow cats all help. Engine management (chips) don't help too much without forced induction. The stock ECU can handle most mods just fine. You can do a lot with the suspension though. Start with sway bars and endlinks if you can handle a neutral-to-oversteering car well. Struts and springs will have to wait a while though, since nobody is making them yet for '04s. SPT/STi stuff is mostly good (except their crap intake) but it's usually overpriced fro the Stealers.
