jdm mufflers

can anybody tell me if the gda/gdb jdm mufflers fit on our usdm wrxs. i called a couple speed shops in my area and they couldnt answer my question.. one shop said it wouldnt fit because of emissions? does that sound right?

JDM OE exhaust parts fit fine.
