unless you have a boost controller your boost will not be consistent through all gears. I think 1st gear has no boost (all engine). When you guys say 17psi is the cut off, do you mean without a reflash or e-mange system? Can you go higher with the right tuning or must you change out pistons, rings, and connecting rods?

I have a boost gauge and mine keeps showing 10 to 11psi

Do you think my modifications without tuning could cause this?

don't know if mods will do that, check for vacuum leaks. make sure everything is tight and sealed properly, specially on your boost guage (you shouldn't hear any hissing sound comming from you gauge) because i remember the first time i installed my boost gauge i didn't tightend enough the vacuum hose at the back of my guage and it was only reading around 10-11 psi. so i took it apart on retightend it and everything went ok. if you have a mechanical boost gauge that is. hope this helps.

off topic; i was driving home from work this morning (yea i work grave) and i had a boost spike (16psi) ...and i suddenly felt a little tingly inside q= )
