I just installed an HKS circle earth grounding kit and started pulling a CEL. It is P0136 (o2 sensor misfunction, bank 1 sensor 2). What in the world does this mean? I've seen your guys' posts about the PO130 being fixed by a new o2 sensor, but what does mine mean? Is the relationship to the HKS circle earth pure coincidence?

For background, I have a 2002 WRX with a scoobysport turboback exhaust. I've got no cats left (no emissions checks in KS!) and a vishnu mapped Unichip (along with all the other stage 0 goodies).

The CEL is most likely not due to the grounding kit, but to the turbo-back exhaust and up-pipe. I recently installed the MRT up-pipe and turbo-back exhaust, and after about 500 miles of driving, i got a CEL. It's just because you have no cats (I have 1 still). Just do the resistor CEL fix thingy on the up-pipe and you should be ok. If not, then I think you're just gonna have to live with it, since you have zero cats.

 

hi. first if you have no cats after the tuirbo then all you have to do is get the cel fix for no cat pipes(catback) i got mine of ebay it was like 5 bucks. all it is a resestor and a capaciter that you put in line with the wires off the o2 sensor. i did not here you say you did a uppipe!! am i right. but if you did then you can do the resestor in the plug trick. 4 that cel

by the way- my cel did not come on for a week after i did my cat back. so it was just the luck of the draw when it came on(cel)

I tried the black tape option, and then another CEL popped up in another location on the dash. I pulled the code, and it was P0004, or "misfire in black tape, bank 1 sensor 3"
