Exhaust changes without reflashing EcuTek?
What kind of exhaust changes or other mods have people made without going through the expense of an Ecutek reflash?
My 04 Rex was dyno-tuned with an Ecutek flash for a catless setup but now I want to be more 'green' and put in some kind of high-flow cat. It would obviously be nice not to have to reflash to compensate for the extra backpressure. I wonder if there's any danger to the engine if I don't reflash - of course that would depend on exactly what the current map looks like and how much backpressure is added. It seems like a waste to overwrite a good custom Ecutek map.
The Prodrive Stage 3 kit puts out similar hp to my car with almost identical mods except that they have a catted downpipe. That would seem to indicate that a good high-flow cat shouldn't hurt performance much.

well it depends on what cats you are thinking of adding, if you are just adding a single high flow post turbo dont worry about it. But if you are planning on going back to a up-pipe w cat etc I would go to your local ecutek tuner ( or us ) and get it re-tuned.
hope that helps.
