EGT sensor and uppipes
i've heard stories of EGT sensors failing after an uppipe installation due to the fact that there is no pre-cat before the sensor. my engine happened to get hot enough to trigger a CEL because of the overheating EGT sensor. An ECU reset did the trick, but I expect the sensor to burn out soon.
Does anyone know the appropriate value resistor to replace the EGT with? I'm wanting to cut the wire, leave the sensor installed to plug the bung and override the sensor. any advice would help.

how to....
simply cut the sensor wires and solder the resistor to both ends. leave the cut sensor in the bung as a plug. as this can cause your engine to not crank if the circuit fails, i'd find someone skilled with a soldering iron and use heat shrink around any exposed conductors. cheese dude.
this is overly complicated.
grab your egt probe, take it out and follow the wires back to the plug on the passenger side of the engine bay. Unplug the connector, bend the resistor so it looks like an H with the top feet cut off. Push the resistor into the plug. Take the EGT probe and put it on a shelf somewhere. Plug the hole in the uppipe with a bolt. You don't want that probe in there, I've heard stories of it breaking off and jumping into the turbo.
