as far as I understand it means that you can tune and have different maps using accessport instead of a UTEC or EcuTekTuner add-on to your ECUTek tune, which to date is the only multi-map tuner available...

The access tuner will allow you to fine tune a map that cobb already makes. So for example if you ware running cobb stage 2 the access tuner will allow you to more fine tune that map for your needs. Later on this year they will release access pro-tuner witch will allow cobb shops like us to completely make a map form the ground up and store in on the access port or flash your computer with it. So for example you could have a 91oct map and a 100oct race map custom made on the access port and switch between the two different maps. If you have any more question please let me know

That or waite till the protuner comes and and you can still use your AP. It also depend what mods are on your car if you are close to what one of the stages are then the access tuner will most work for you. If you want a complete custome tune then pro tuner or ecutek are your ways to go

No. The advantage of the ProTuner is that it works like a reflash- it's not a piggyback. The disadvantage is, you don't want to pay for ProTuner, and the AccessTuner doesn't give you complete access to individual maps.

Or you could just drop it. Postwhoring is not a crime on i-club (see soggynoodles and black02wrx) but it's frowned upon in the tech forums.

Plus the fact that with Accesstuner changes can be made on the fly tuning wise so you can instantly see the results of the tune where as Ecutek the vehicle has to be turned of,re-flashed,then dyoned again to see the effects of the changes. This is a process that takes a hell of alot longer and after the initiall tune ,is time you are paying for.

Does anyone have any insight on wether COBB will ever release higher octane maps? I run 96 to 100 in my car for track so it'll be nice to have a more agressive map. Or is this will I be able to do this with the accesstuner.

As far as higher octane maps i have not heard anything to that effect from Cobb. One of the only ways that is going to be acomplished is by going to Cobb and getting the tune yourself. Or by wating till the protuner comes out haveing your computer flashed then. Pro-tuner does not require a access port. It will jsut be a ecutek style reflash. If you buy or have a accessport then you have the ability to switch the maps. So you dont have to have a AP to get a protuner flash.

So if I get a VF series turbo I can tune for the turbo based on cobb's 2.5 map? In other words I can get a VF34 and make changes to the map such as a Walboro FP or bigger top mount IC to maximize performance?
