Cobb Accessport question

Hi all

I just recieved my Cobb Accessport (02-03 model). I have read the instructions through a couple of times (both the actual booklet and the .pdf file online) and I'm confused. I am trying to initalize it to work with my car. I bought it off of eBay, and the owner said they bought it from a shop and they believe it should work with the car. Anyways, after I plugged the two green connectors together (god that was a pain to get down under there), and plugged the blue wiring clip on, I plugged the AP in. It turned on, but it looked like it went to the main screen. It said "Switch map, View current map, Read current boost, " etc. etc. Pretty sure that's the main menu. On the Cobb site's instructions it says the initializing screen should say "Please choose a new map to flash to ECU", but I am not getting this screen. I don't want to push any buttons or try to switch maps because I don't want it to fry my ECU. Does this mean the previous owner never unmarried it from their car? Please help ASAP, I want to get in touch with the seller if this is the case ASAP. Thank you in advance!

It deffinately sounds like the previous owner never unmarried the AP from their ECU... either that or the AP is stolen or something.

I'm pretty sure it's unmarried from the previous owner's car. The guy said he got it from a shop, so we'll see how this turns out. I will most likely try and get a refund for it, because I don't want to have to deal with this guy talked to the shop, who would have to talk to the owner of the car, etc. I'd rather just get my money back and find one in one of the forums to buy.

Edit:

Also pretty dang sure it's not stolen. Everything that is included when it is new was included (papers, book, connectors, etc. etc.) Everything is in great shape too... looks brand new. The auction said only used a few times.... just apparently never unmarried. So now I've got an AP that doesn't work and some guy is still riding around at Stage-whatever without thinking twice about it. Great.
