Question Bigger injectors without a ECU tune?

I am looking to get some 07 STI topfeed injectors and want to sell my stock 04 injectors to recoup some of the cost. Would I be able to temporarily run the bigger injectors with the tune I have?

Ultimately I am going to run a VF39 (not installed yet), Walbro 255 (installed), the 07 STI injectors (not purchased yet), 1-step cooler plugs (not purchased yet), a Prodrive 3-port boost solenoid (not installed yet), and have Mike @ GST Protune it.

The Walbro seems to be fine as-is (actually seems better), wondering if the injectors would adapt as well to my current setup (Gruppe-S Protune, Bosal Uppipe, Prodrive 3CE, Vishnu underdrive pulley, JDM STI TMIC, STI axleback) until I can get the rest of the parts and and retuned with Mike.

LMK what you guys think...

Thanks!

Rob

you'll be running a bit rich since the running cycle of your injectors will remain the same.

You'll need a custom tune to run different injectors. Have you looked into buying the 06-07 WRX 'blue' injectors? They're actually bigger than the STIs. Or you could also mod your current injectors to flow a ton more.

That's what I just bought. 07 STI blue injectors. Same as the 06-07 WRX blues.

Thanks for your input...

The WRXs are still bigger injectors at 560cc. The STIs are 535cc. Still a big upgrade from those 420cc's.

I have a COBB AP which Mike @ Gruppe-S Protuned me with back in 2005. I'll just have him do it again at his new shop when it's all put together.
