AP not flashing...
So I just bought a V1 accessport for my 04 wrx today and plugged te test connector together and the "initialization" connector, plugged the AP in, it says choose a new map to flash to my car so I choose the stage 2 map and it says turn the car fully off then on. I do that and then hit select right away to start the process and it says initializing for 10-20 seconds and then says turn the car fully off and back on again...
Anybody know whats going on? My ecu has already been flashed with a stage 2 tune with ecuflash, is that my problem? Do I have to put the stock map back on with ecuflash to be able to use the accessport?
Any help would be appreciated

Whats a stock "SOA" map?
What if its a "locked" flash? I don't remember where I heard that there are tuners that lock their maps so another tuner cant retune their maps, not sure if that would be a problem. I did a little research after posting and found this

Someone may have monkeyed with the ECU and that is why the AP is not recognizing the ECU. The AP is looking for a stock SOA map...I'm almost at a loss.
You've done everything right, the AP is trying to marry but then the error hits...makes me think the ecu has been flashed.
I've been looking at my AP manual and it says..."turn ign key to the ON position...Within 5 seconds of turning the ign on you need to press the SELECT button to begin the initialization process. If you wait too long, the procedure will time out and you will be forced to try again."

Ok that's about all I can do for you...I think your ECU has a flash on it...

Subaru of America. They were saying it was looking for a factory Subaru map. I've had an OS tune flashed over with 2 different APs on 3 separate occasions. I would call Cobb and ask. It's a V1 though, so if something is wrong with it they've already technically dropped support for it.

The problem was my current stage 2 map. I talked to cobb and they said either the unit is damaged or my current map is conflicting with the AP. I since resolved the issue by just selling the AP. The guy I sold it to said it worked find, he married it to his car and is now running stage 2. I just forgot to update the thread
