actually, it seems like a cheap-0 version of Delta Dash with none of the tuning capabilities. actually though, if it works well for datalogging, it could be a pretty useful tool for only 100 bucks.

Buffer from what? Delta Dash is incapable of making changes to your ecu, except to slightly raise your idle or to retard timing, neither of which can bring harm to the car.
