I talked to a guy at Cobb and he told me to check their sight in early November for more info. I don't know if that means it will be ready for distribution in early November or not but I'd think they would release it ASAP since they discontinued the original.
Hopefully we don't have to deal with all of the release delays like we did when the AP first came out.
Fingers are crossed for data logging capabilities.

Cobb plans on releasing information on the AP2 during SEMA week and the scheduled release date is sometime in November. Many new features will be available including a boost gauge on the color screen. Though SP does not carry Cobb products, I personally back up their work 100%. Trey and the guys at Cobb know exactly what they are doing.

Ok.. now the important question... cost.
If it is going to cost significantly more, I'd be inclinced to buy a used AP and spend the cash I saved on a permanent boost gauge or something else.
I guess what I'm saying is unless the price is the same -OR- there is a real good reason to spend the extra money... the original gets the job done just as well and for less.
Thoughts?

MSRP will be $695 for the new Cobb AccessPort V2.
There will be one model for the 2.0L's and another for the 2.5L's. More information will be released at the conclusion of SEMA.
Here is some information on it though for those of you wondering:
"Cobb Tuning, Inc. announced the release of the
completely redesigned AccessPORT™ handheld programmer and software for Subaru vehicles
with planned support for Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, and Toyota vehicles in the future.
Trey Cobb, CEO of Cobb Tuning, Inc. said, "Today's release of the new AccessPORT represents
a revolutionary step forward for handheld ECU reprogrammers. With next-generation features
and design along with Cobb Tuning's unique on-the-fly tuning technology, the new AccessPORT
is another example of the well-engineered products Cobb Tuning is dedicated to provide its
customers."
The AccessPORT by Cobb Tuning, Inc. is a handheld programmer that allows you to unlock your
vehicle's hidden potential by reprogramming the stock Engine Control Unit (ECU). Performance
tuning data is uploaded to the ECU via the OBD-2 diagnostic port in a matter of minutes, and
requires no cutting, wiring, or other such modifications. Unique to the AccessPORT is the ability
to change tuning data on-the-fly without having to completely reprogram the ECU. This
technology allows the AccessPORT to get the most performance out of your vehicle in the least
amount of time.
Using off-the-shelf staged tuning maps along with the appropriate vehicle modifications, the
AccessPORT users can see power gains in excess of 50HP. Better yet, the AccessPORT truly
unlocks the ability to extract a vehicle's peak potential through custom tuning for any level of
modification.
The AccessPORT's features include:
• On-the-fly map switching
• Monitor vehicle sensor data and display in analog or digital format
• Vibrant color graphic display with First-Ever full 260,000 color OLED, high-resolution
screen
• Read/Clear engine trouble codes
• Preloaded with performance, economy and convenience maps
• Update via the Internet
• Measure 0-60 and ¼ mile times
• Adjustable on-screen Shift Light functionality
• Estimates horsepower and torque
• Displays current and averaged fuel economy
• Drag race simulation with reaction time and “time slip” data
• Built in on-screen help mode function
• Multi-Language support
• RoHS compliant (Lead Free design)
• Custom performance tuning for your specific vehicle and modifications as provided by an
authorized AccessPORT ProTUNER™ center, or upgrade to the StreetTUNER™
software package for do-it-yourself tuning"

Kinda bummed.
I was really hoping the next version was going to be more like a melding of a PSI3 and the accessport. Something in a single din package that had a nice screen and controls that could display 3 or 4 user-selectable engine parameters in real time, and handle the maps a-la the old accessport. Give the f'er a usb port on the front to load new maps into the unit and the ECU/accessport cable would be in the rear.... Oh well.
As far as people complaining about being screwed by Cobb if they bought a Ver.1 AP, Cobbs site specifically states that they will continue to support the version 1 AP, so don't fire sale your ver1 ap if it's working for you today.
