Accessport by Cobb Tuninig
Have anyone hear anything good or bad about the accessport from COBB? would one go with the accessport which reflesh your ecu, store up to ten map which you can switch back on forth..or would one go with the UTEC, which is a piggyback for the ecu..and does similiar to the accessport..? Accessport $560.. UTEC $949?

1) Has anyone heard anything good or bad about the accessport from Cobb?
2) What is the difference between the accessport and the UTEC?
1) Everyone that has an Accessport seems to like it. No one has had any serious complaints about it so far. Some people who have had aftermarket MBC's have reported low boost, but Cobb has attended to this issue.

2) The Accessport is different from the UTEC in that it simply reprograms the factory ecu with different timing maps. The maps are preloaded, available for free download, and can be switched as often as needed without flashing the ECU. The maps are preprogrammed for certain modifications and gasoline octanes.
The UTEC is an engine management device that must be tuned either on the street, or preferably a dyno. It is more expensive because it offers the ability to customize your map. I'm not a UTEC expert so I'll end here.

Check out Cobb Tuning's forums. There is a wealth of information there, and I'm sure you'll find everything you need to know there. Just a warning though, the information there is quite lengthy right now. Be prepared for a lot of reading.
If you have no interest in tuning, and don't mind the off-the-shelf maps, then the Cobb would be for you.
