I must say, after installing the AP stage 1 HWY 91, the car is a bit more lively. I had an upipe and axelback (that's the way I bought it). The gearing isn't so bad after all. much props to Cobb. I should be getting my TBE pretty soon now. Also I had a check engine light and I thought I would be able to see what's up, but after the AP install the code was cleared and hasn't come back since? Go figure.

So I I've recently changed my timing belt and water pump, and plugs, preparing for the upcoming mods on my 150K mile car. And wouldn't you know it, a CEL. The usual misfiring. Well I thought, something must me installed wrong or something. I realized that the map I was using was 91, but not California 91, Once I switched over to that map, no more CELS. So now I'm getting hooked up with a Helix catted down pipe and Looking for a decent catback on on too stage 2. I'm also sourcing a 04 Forester tranny for better gearing. MODS are addicting.:character00107:
so im getting an invidia uppipe and downpipe that i just ordered and i want to get a cobb access port but i dont get it, like this is probably going to be the stupidest question ever but how come you cant borrow it from a friend? and i want to get it for my car but im just like stuck on the steps, 1 can i borrow it from a friend , 2 i need to go through the stages? ex stage 1 THEN 2? and to get to stage to what do i need?
nope you can just go straight to stage 2. and the reason you cant borrow it from a friend is that the accessport gets married to one car and that is the only car that one specific accessport can be used on. you can always unmarry it and revert the car back to stock which can be used with another car but not two at once. just get an accessport on ebay. i am selling one on there right now and it is at like 360 total bid and has like a day left so they are going for pretty cheap on ebay. thats what i would recommend. but ya i also just got an invidia downpipe and flashed my car to stage two and it is a huge difference and feels really good now!

The only issue with accessport is that if you're not hitting target boost, you either A) have to adjust your wastegate, B) have a bad Boost solenoid or C) All of the above. In my case, the owner before had replaced the turbo and didn't replace the solenoid, so I bought a manual boost controller to adjust the the boost to 14.7 PSI to match what the accessport is tuned for. Lots of folks on here are not hitting target boost and hence are not really feeling the point of the map. I was one.
ok cool, whats flash? so if i go right to stage two that would be more horsepower? and when i get it could 1 of you guys help me out with tuning it or should i just take it somewhere
You actually dont even need help from anyone to run it. what you do is plug it in under your dash and flash the different map to your ecu and when it is done you stick it in your glovebox or in your house and you really dont have to use it again until you switch it to a different map. if you install the downpipe you can upload the base map of stage 2 in your car and then thats it. you can always get a tune later but the stage 2 map should be just fine.

congrats on the buy man. Enjoy it. Cant wait to get mine.
