Got two more STI's coming in tomorrow. One with a blown head gasket and another with a Full Race twin scroll setup that we need to modify, fix leaks, and tune!

Yeah I'm curious too - though you don't really need a very clean room at all for engine assembly (I worked in semiconductor manufacturing, talk about needing cleanroom *****)
1 mil is 25 microns, and that's on the order of engine block tolerances. Even precision machining goes down to half a mil, 12.5 microns. Class xx/xxx/xxxx/xxxxx cleanroom specs usually deal with <10 micron particles
I doubt the environmental conditions need any modifications - yeah you care about the effects of humidity/pressure/temperature but if you work out the math for all with the dissimilar materials involved, from an engineering perspective the difference is below tolerance thresholds
