For the record I was paying for my car before college. My parents asked me not to get another full time job so I could concentrate on my school work and they would take over payments untill I could afford to pay them back.

a couple things i wanna JUST ASK
that IMO is harsh to say.. a lot of people here.. get/got support from their parents which i believe is perfectly normal. my job/goal as a DAD, later in life, is to care and PROVIDE for my family especially my son's/daughter.. spoiling them by buying them whatever they want to show love isn't right. but to give a gift i.e: a car.. which btw is a huge gift, is something parents decide or feel is the right CHOICE cause obviously parents don't want the worst for their child and im sure you'll have to even agree with me on that.

Ol' Fatass_Version7 isn't wise enough not to take offense to anything. The jackass thinks someone's personally attacking him whenever someone disagrees with him. That's fine. He's just pissed cuz he's poor and still lives at home mooching off of mommy and daddy.

We all have different ideas of what is right or wrong when it comes to buying our children cars. Personally, I wouldn't buy my child a car. They can buy their own car and learn their on sense of responsibility. I'll buy my kid an iPod, a stereo, a DVD player, etc., but when it comes to things like credit cards and huge purchases, they're on their own. There is no reason any parent should be buying their kid a car.

Would I give my child a hand-me-down when it came time to buy a new car? Sure, if I were in the market for a new car, but damned if I'm going to go out and buy his/her car for him/her.
