And he said the Fastest in the SRIC... By Anyones car standard(except for here i guess) when you talk about fast... it's acceleration, not how fast you can do 15 turns at Thunder-Hill...

Ya I am sure guys like lowball can beat me around thunderhill, considering I have NEVER done a track day. SO if they couldn't I would think it was rather funny actually. Tracks are more like 80% driver 20% car, because you can have a slower car rip *** and murder a faster car because the driver in the slower car is that much better.... but does that make it the faster car??? No... Just makes the driver a faster driver....
Yeah but if someone beat you around Thunderhill, say, Egan, wouldn't that make you not technically the fastest STI in SRIC? I know this is a difficult concept to understand.

Just go back to my first post - you're the fastest STI in SRIC at the drag strip (and pretty much the only STI in SRIC at the drag strip too, but that's ok).

If you can beat every STI in SRIC at all the events in which they compete - autox, road course AND drag strip, then you're the fastest STI in SRIC, but until that point, you're just the fastest STI in SRIC that is at the drag strip regularly.

John, congrats on having the fastest STi in SRIC.

Now get to a road course or auto-x to prove you are also the fastest driver here

Could also try to hit up:

Reno-Fernly Raceway. They have a drag stip too, but its uphill and at 4500 feet elevation, so no one uses those timeslips for anything other then to brag to the guy in the other lane.

RFR has no timeslips... it's head's up grudge drag only.

And as far as "fastest"... when was the last time anyone here was out at the Blackrock desert running a timed mile in two directions? I'm pretty sure over a timed mile, my bone stock SVX can beat any SRIC member's 1/4 mile trap speed.

Basically, what I'm saying is that drag racing has nothing to do with being the "fastest", is has everything do do with being the "quickest". It's the difference between speed and acceleration.

IMO, finding out who's the "quickest" in SRIC can be done at the strip. But finding out who's the "fastest" will require a trip to the desert or the salt flats.

And if you want to know who's the best driver, well, it's time for a little tour: rallycross, autocross, time trials, and track hot lapping.

I know that dyno to dyno will read different, but I don think that there has ever been anything proven that the 2 dynos made by the same company read that much different.

The Matrix dyno in Portland reads about 12-14% higher then Gruppe-Ss...The FLI dyno in Sata Rosa also read about 13% off...both those units are Mustangs.

I recall the same day FLI had their opening party a car was dynoe'd @ the FLI event...drove to Gruppe-S and was redynoe'd within 4-5 hours.

To be quite honest i don't think there is anything wrong with either of these Dynos...i just think that Gruppe-Ss reads low.

I have too much time on my hands to learn these facts LOL.

My point with this thread was to stir up some of you boys to hit the dragstrip and now maybe the road course.

I would pay a $1 to see Soggy flip his H2 around a corner...
