theoretically... if one was to have a **** transmission on an 02 wrx with a voided warranty b/c of many mods.. could 1 borrow his friends transmission on an 04 with 8k miles.. no mods.. and send that friend in with bad tranny in for a b 2 b warranty fix.. theoretically.. ?

Theoretically, I don't know. Doubtful. I wouldn't be surprised if the part numbers differed.
