Yeah I forgot to mention that they tried to tell me that a USED EVO WAS WORTH MORE THAN MSRP. I told them that they were on crack!

 

hey @ least u did the smart thing by going down and testing out the car before u raged on the car so i don't think anyone will bash u for it.

 

A friend of mine had the same experience. The salesman drove the **** out of the car, but didn't even know how to shift properly, even missing a gear.

I don't see why they do that. Are they trying to prove the Evo has *****? Also, even after all that they have the nerve to try and sell you the same demo car that they abused.

I second that. The salesman was driving the **** out of the EVO he was showing me....and I was like....dont you need to break it in? He said it was okay...and I was thinkin.....Im not buyin any of your DEMO cars.....or anything with more the 35 miles on it.

 

I think we can all agree that the Mitsubishi dealer here sucks.
Could you please explain how your STI handles U turns ? I think you were experiencing oversteer with the EVO and over correcting, thereby causing said "lack of control" From my understanding many people can't handle the EVO's quick steering and tend to put perfectly good cars into ditches/walls/showrooms, etc.

 

The evo's active yaw system is truly unique in a way that it makes the car turn artificially. Complicated crap.. Its more of a "floaty" oversteer feeling under throttle I think, maybe he gave a little too much gas. LOL in GT it was quite obvious how the yaw system worked, it somehow gains momentum and slides you sideways.. sometimes off guard. I guess it takes getting used too.. ?

 

Do EVO's here have active yaw control ? I didn't think so, but I could be wrong.

You are right, they do not have AYC in any of the US cars. The dealership here is the only reason I will not buy an EVO. I am also not impressed with the build quality and interiors on the EVO but that wouldn't stop me from owning one.

keirnna, could it be the reason for the lack of power in the EVO versus the STi be due to the difference in engine sizes? Or maybe the torque delivery difference? Or maybe due to the fact that your car is broken in, while the EVO was just broken due to dealer neglinence (spl)?

The Evo and STi are so closely matched in performance that I doubt I would be able to make a choice from driving them on the street. The track is the only place to truly figure out which one drives best.

I chose the STi for its overall package (aside from performance: manufactuer, interior, build quality, etc). But if I wanted an all out racer, make mine an Evo RS.

When I talk about the track, I don't mean the drag strip.

I'm sure you have a better perspective than me though since you've driven one. I rarely see Evos at the 'track' so there's little opportunity to even get to ride in one.

Where are all the Evos anyway? Are people paying all this money just to go in a straight line? If so, let me have your steering rack!
