Will an EJ25 (and automatic tranny swap) work (in a WRX)?

Question Will a EJ25 Work?

I have question and I hope that I can get an educated answer. I Have blown Two EJ20's in the last year. I want to move up to a EJ25 STI. Problem is I am Disabled and have been to forced to drive an automatic. Of course we all know the WRX auto is a four speed overdrive trans. Can some one tell me what I need to do to make this possible or not? If it can. Where can I get this set up done? I live in Southern Cali Down by San Diego Area. I will take my car to LA if need be. But first I want know if it can be done. If not I will just go Full upgrades on internals and Heads. Let me know.

If the automatic trans is not beefed up internally by some outfit that knows what they are doing, the least you should probably do is to run a small bar and plate-type transmission oil cooler. The higher torque output of a modified EJ25 turbo will produce more heat in the transmission but it's a good idea to use a small trans cooler even if the engine is close to stock if you drive the car hard.
