Wierd thing happens when getting out of reverse on my Sti
Hi all,
I just got my 2011 Sti hatch a few weeks ago n so far I love it. I have a question for you Sti owners. Why is it when going into reverse and afterwards put it in 1st gear that my car is stuck just for a split second? I mean it feels it's engaged in the reverse gear, but I'm already going into gear and ring is down. I've heard a wierd noise too while doing this. Is this common? If so how can I fix it?
This doesn't happen all the time, 2 times at the most.

Are you saying the lever feels stuck while you're trying to put it in 1st, or the car feels stuck when you first let the clutch out and give it some gas?
If the former, I can't help you.
If the latter it might be hill-holder holding onto the brake slightly too long, which it does from time to time. These are the instructions I have for disabling the hill-holder. I haven't tried disabling it myself.

Stop your vehicle in a flat area, apply parking brake and turn engine off.
Restart engine.
Press VDC button and hold until disabled.Do not take finger off the button.
The light will go yellow, green and it will turn off.
Within 5 seconds of of VDC light turning off, release the button.
Within 2 seconds of releasing button, press the VDC button again and and a hill assist light will illuminate on the dash.
Turn off engine.
