Question What part of the Tranny fails?

Hi All,
I've heard a lot from several of the users that their transmission failed. I know Imprezer has a theory that has to do with tranny case flex. My question to those of you that have had your tranny replaced is what part of your transmission failed? The more detail the better. I mean, the gear box is sort of considered part of the tranny although if you go into details the gearbox is seperate from the tranny. I guess I want to know is what is the weakest link in the tranny, is it the gears? the connecting shaft? the more detail the better..... Or is it just the gears in the gearbox or the synchros? I apologise in advance for any errors in my question.....
Thanks for all your input....

A lot of people have had their synchros go bad. My second gear went bad. A lot of people had their first gear go bad.

Their isn't one part that is failing on these transmissions, it is multiple parts.
