Transmisson noise
Driving down the road and gearing down to 3rd, all of a sudden something seems to come loose in the tranny and starts to rattle. I go to 4th gear, same thing. Instead of pressing the gas, I bring it to 2nd. Not as much rattling and able to drive it 1 mile to the house. Able to put it in any gear with no resistance. The clutch still feels the same. Any suggestions on what the problem can be?

does it seem like the noise is RPM specific? (only audible at specific RPM in any gear)
does it get louder with accel?
what kind of noise? knock? tap? rattle? squeak? NVH?
it MAY not be, but my heatshields gave me the biggest headache. headshield noise/rattling usually is a RPM specific deal.

It's not the heat shield. When I put it in third it seemed not engage and more rattling. But when I had it in second, everything seemed better with less rattle, feeling normal. As of right now, 1st,2nd, and reverse works. Don't want to take the chance to make things worse and head down the road.
