Transmission/Drive Train Bucking
ORIGINAL PROBLEM: Auto transmission on my son's 97 Impreza Brighton was grinding and running rough.
FIX: Replaced with an auto transmission from a low mileage 97 Impreza Outback. All part numbers on the replacement transmission are the same as the removed transmission.
OUTCOME: Replacement transmission runs smooth, however when making a turn, there is a "bucking" coming from the rear-end.
FACTORS:
1. The car did not do this "bucking" before the transmission was changed
2. Only the transmission was changed (no other parts or adjustments)
3. If we move that certain fuse into the "FWD" socket under the hood, the car does not buck
QUESTIONS:
1. Any idea what is causing this?
2. Could there be a faulty connection somewhere that is preventing a sensor signal?
3. Could there be a problem inside the replacement transmission?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

Only two things come to mind. One is front and rear gear ratio mismatch.
Two, Try to do a bunch of semi agressive figure eights in a parking lot to try and get the computer to readjust the way it applies the pressure solenoid for the transfer unit.
Good luck
