i just did my trans last thurs night....... take out the shift fork (if you have a pull type clutch system, i think you have that-check first)........ cuz i have the pull type clutch..... i was fighting that sh*t for hours...... then i realized that i had to take that out in the begining. everything is pretty much smoothing sailing..... should be a easy job. but i had a rack, tranny jack..... it shouldnt be that hard. have some brake fluid with you too cuz you going to take out the slave cylinder(makes life easier to pull out the trans.) let me know and good luck man.

It should bolt right in if it's an Impreza 5MT, even if it's from an RS or L. The bellhousings are the same, and the driveshafts are the same. Let us know exactly what the gearbox came from aqnd maybe we can help you out.

i brought it back and they still insist that it's from a 02 wrx. i still don't know which car that's from. the only difference is that the holes to mount the slave cylinder isn't there and there's a metal piece that moves back and forth is going in the opposite direction. sorry don't really know what's it called. my friend was explaining and showing me what it was. now i still have to look for another one. this sucks

It's a non-turbo gearbox. You need a pull-type clutch and they gave you a push type from an RS or other non-turbo (or forester or legacy).
