Watch out...

Recently, my 4th gear syncro was starting to go out on my '02 OBS. The car had 57k miles on it, and I wanted to get it fixed while the warranty was still valid. They had my car for three weeks because, apparently, Subaru screwed up the part #s and they put the wrong syncro in it TWICE. It took them three tries to fix it right.

I know the mechanic who works on my car (so I know this isn't BS) and apparently SOA has changed part numbers so many times they are actually using old part numbers again. The tech guys had to call SOA to find out just exactly the right part numbers.

So my advice to you is, if you are having tranny work done by your respectful Subie dealership, have your techs call SOA to make sure they are getting the right parts, and avoid the hassle that I went through. Not having a car for three weeks REALLY sucks.
