Stickup GC8 E-4AT rear right wheel spinning
Stickup GC8 E-4AT rear right wheel spinning
2000 GC8
Hi Guys!
I just do not understand why this happens.
In FWD, I have an LSD type behaviour where both wheels spins or move together to prevent slippage.
So I can drag happily in FWD.
4WD or AWD Mode
Now what have me that on Monday, I was going into work and I had to climb a slight curb @ the entrance to go on the grass. The incline could be 45 degree+.
At this angle, dure to my STI adjustable suspension, my car is low, so I to have to come in @ an angle to prevent scrapping. So normally, I could have only 2 wheels on the ground, but quickly change to 3 wheels.
I made it up good, the car feel good and all of a sudden, I stopped going up with a slick shudder. I applied more pedal and nothing, except my right rear wheel spinning.
Now this tells me that I have an open diff in the rear.
But what I do not understand, why my VTD and front wheel did not pull me up?
Why o why?
Is there any one with very good knowledge on subaru transmission tell me why?
I wanted to drive on the sand days ago, figuring that I would have not been stick up. Well well well. I am jsut shock.
Now, I will have to get a rear lsd. Question now, since I do not have a proper center diff, what would be complications of using a rear lsd wen the VTD was suppose to help me?
