I have the Kartboy short shifter in my 02 WRX and I liked it a lot. No complaints about it. I liked it so much, I put one in my STi today. Works great and shifts nice.

PERRIN is adjustable. kartboys are pretty popular. They run at around 100 bucks so they are pretty cheap.

I really want an STi shifter because i don't want something as low as the kartboy. Problem is that STi shifters run for like 250 bucks. PERRIN adjustables can be had for around 85 dollars. Keep in mind that the PERRIN is just an adaptor. It doesn't replace the stock shifter.

The reason I like the STi is because it replaced the complete shifter linkage, where as all the other ones only replace the shifter. Thus the STi short throw is more expensive.
