STI factory short shifter.

STI factory short shifter.
I have an upgraded STI factory short shifter. Will it mess up my tranny or shifting gear if I change it with another short shift ...say the Agency Power Short shifter.
I have the 05 STI.
I'm not sure if short shifters for STI are only for stock Shifter or are they also compatible with the factroy upgraded short ****er... Help.
Will it have any advantages or disadvantages.?
