Which Short Shifter Is Better Sti Or Kartboy?
Which short shifter you using? which short shift is better?
Sti or kartboy?
I know they have a huge difference in price, $220 vs $100.
So I make a little survey which one is worth. I do care in good performance than price.
any comment also welcome.

I've driven both. The shift throw reduction is similar with both. The KB shifter may be a little shorter due to the reduction in the arc due to the shorter height in the lever. If you want stock height of the shift **** the Sti is the one to get or an adjustable Cobb shifter. The linkage in the STi and the Stock are the same so is the bushing for all intents and purposes. Many people who have the Sti shifter get the KB bushings too. To me you'd be better off w/ a KB or Cobb Double adjustable shifter and some KB shifter bushings. It's up to you though. They are all good and it depends on how much money you want to spend. I've had a KB shifter for around 55K miles w/ no problems.

Hopefully Rolo got the shifter installed by now (he posted a few weeks ago). I screwed the shifter **** back on and just used a rubber mallet to whack the ball into the receiver socket. If I had to do a few of these installs, I'd get a piece of scrap 2 by 4 and drill a hole to fit the threaded end of the shifter, then pound the 2 by 4 with a good heavy hammer or lead mallet.
It can be pounded into the socket just using your fist but why work this hard?
I use the Kartboy shifter and bushings. No way was I going to spend the extra bucks on the STi.

I just did the job on Fri and I found a retaining clip on the bottom of the shifter ball holder which lets you pull out the ball holder. Very easy to get to if you are changing the bushings and have it all apart. You just end up w/ grease all over most everything. Took 2 of us about 1 1/4 hr. While I had the lower rubber boot holder out, it was very easy to grind it so that the shift linkage did not hit going into 1st.
I am curious as to why it now feels so natchy and matelic(not that I am complaining).
