hey my dad has a 02 wrx, and has recently installed a kartboy short shifter with the bushings, and says he has a bad buzz coming through the shifter mostly in 3rd 4th and 5th gears, under engine braking or acceleration. i told him to recheck and lubricate the setup and he did, but said it only made a slight improvement if anything.

any history with this problem, or is it possibly something else just showing itself in the shifter?

 

02-03 have a transmission problem.

i have an 03 and i have the same problem but only in 5th gear.
id check the clutch out, it may be wore out or something.

i would recommend a short shifter though, it will most definitely F up your gear gyro.

 

Might of done the linkage up too tight.
