Unhappy rear differential warning light

My car has been idle for about four days, I go to start her up so I can give her a bath. I notice that the rear differential warning light is on. According to the manual it goes on if the differential is over-heating. How can that be? the car was not running. Have any of you STi owners had this problem? Anyways I gotta contact my local service center--not sure if the car can be driven to the service center. Mahalo (thanks) for any input.

Sounds like you can drive it as long as the fluid level is ok. take a look at this.....

Thanks for the info. I phoned the service department today, he told me not to drive the car. It will be towed to service this Sunday. He thinks that a seal may have failed and the differential is low on fluid.
