Im hope to sometime with in the next month get the money together for the RA gearset with synchros and bearings and just rebuild the tranny but thats still gonna be a lot of money. Anyone running the ra gearset actually notice a difference in the ratios? can u notice the improvment in acceleration?

Yes. First gear is a lot taller than the stock WRX tranny, it's actually usable. I ordered the standard edition RA gears which shortened my 4th and 5th, but you can order the special edition in which you retain your stock 4th and 5th gear ratios for better gas mileage. I'm glad I chose the standard edition, it has actually made me a slower driver (I had a lead foot)...at about 3000rpm in 5th gear I'm only doin about 63-64mph, and anything above 3000rpm on the freeway seems like you're winding it up IMO, (I'm running straight pipes, maybe that's why). Overall, you'll be shifting more around town, but it keeps you in the powerband alot better. I love this tranny!
