Question - People with Warrantied trannies...

Now knowing that some people have had the good fortune of having their vehicle's "Clutch" parts replaced under warranty, how do you like it? what differences have you noticed? good? bad?

The reason I ask is, that the Subaru dealer's here in Rye, NY are replacing the parts under warranty. Thus, I would like to know your thoughts on your new found joy.

Curious...

but did you have to pay anything for the "clutch disk?" I just received a call from my dealer's service manager telling me that I would have to pay $153.90 for the clutch disk...since I have 32K on the car...? Does that sound like something I would have to pay for?

Any info. is appreciated.

I had my clutch assembly replaced about 3 weeks ago under warranty because i had the clutch shudder problem and, 1st and 2nd would not engage properly. 3 days later i blew the tranny under normal circumstances, now they wont replace the tranny and wont let me get the car unless i give them 1000.00 since they opened up the tranny. The funny thing is, its second gear that blew, needless to say i am pissed.

Yeah i guess its a good write off if you have the 3900.00 to spend in the first place. I probably will just have MPJ install a set of STI Ra gears into my 5 speed...
