Question Please Help!! Check Engine light...

So my car was perfectly fine until this morning i was going to work, and my check engine light went off, so I kind of ignored it for the time being because i was at work, but on my way home, it began acting really funny. As i'm driving my car, gassing it, it would just basically loose throttle. As if my car was low on gas and was dieing, even with my foot on the gas the car wasn't moving forward, just slowing down as if my car was in neutral. it wasn't even reving up. Basically it was acting as if your car is about to die because you have no gas...but i had a full tank so that's not the problem. Does anyone know what it might be?!?! I have no idea, i'm thinking maybe the alternator???

Not an expert or anything but I am pretty sure it isn't the alternator. Possibly check into the fuel filter or maybe even the fuel pump is bad.

my best thought would be a clogged fuel filter or pump... maybe clogged injectors?

i took it to a near by mechanic and had him read the code. he told me it's the exhaust sensor. i guess the wires are short and have gone bad so i gotta replace it. what the sensor does is it determines how much air and fuel go through the engine, kinda makes sense because the car did seem like as if it was dieing due to no gas in the tank.
