newbie with a 5-sp

I m a beginner at driving a stick. While I was practicing on my 2003 wrx with 16000(bought it used), i stalled the cars a few times (caused the jerking motion) and grinded the gears twice. I was wondering how tough are our clutches and how often does it need replacing.. About how much is it to get it replaced? It was a bad move to learn on a wrx but i had no other choices. Hope someone can help out a newbie here. THanks in advance.

That depends on the engagement point of the clutch and that is different for each car. Just remember you have a performance car, do not be afraid to give the car a little gas before letting go of the clutch.
