Need a second opinion on my flywheel problem

My car has been experiencing tons of shuttering when i engage the clutch, whether it is from stop to go or downshifting. I took the car to a mechanic and he said it is because my flywheel. He quoted me around 450 for labor excluding parts. I was wondering what would be the effect if I swapped in a lightweight flywheel? Or should I just stick with a stock flywheel?

Specs: Stock 03 WRX

I've review some threads about the horrible 03 transmission and that i shouldn't change out of my stock clutch. Mainly I'm trying to spend as little as possible but moving forward in terms of modding (I have the intent to increase my HP in the near future). I don't want to spend the money and later on regret it because it wasn't a good investment.

Opinions?

Stick to the OEM clutch kit. Make sure to either use a new flywheel or have yours resurfaced.

Ic. Do you think i need chg the entire Clutch plus the flywheel? or is my problem only coming from the warped flywheel?

If you're still on the original clutch, replace the entire assembly.
First see if the flywheel can be resurfaced.

hey did you get your flywheel don im having the same problem but i have two warped spots exactly on opposites sides from each other
