light weight driveshaft

I was doing a boring task today at work and had sometime time to think and here is my thinking

light weight pulleys
light weight flywheel
why not a light weight driveshaft?

because AWD socks off enough power as it is and the stock drive shaft must be atleast 20-30 lbs(someone else plz help me out with the exact weight) and removing 10-20 lbs could do wonders

has anyone also though of this?
