Unhappy I want to die.

I just bought my 06 STI, beautiful car, powerful piece of machinery. Ive put about 2200+ miles on it, breaking her in. I've done this more then once but let me try to describe it the best I can(By the way, I do not have the biggest dictionary terms on car terms in my head). Im at lunch at work, I have a full belly eating a delicious tomato and cheese pizza this place makes. I unlock my sexy gun metal grey beast.. I get in rubbing her on her shifter.. She wants me to give her hell, show her whose boss. I get in.. cruising in 1st around 3,000 RPM.. I let her have it. Punch it and hear her roar at me in sexiness. Then I dump it in 2nd around 7000 rpm and release the clutch fast... and I wanted to shoot myself in the face. The transmission gives a ugly catch/jerking motion and a ugly popping noise like someone taking a bat and slamming against something metal. A big THUNK deep sound. It always does this when I give my baby hell like that. This is my manual transmission car, but I do know how to drive it perfectly fine, just not when giving it hell. Maby im just shifting wrong? But can someone explain? I love her and I never want to damage her :(

Are you letting the RPMs drop according to what gear youre in? When you shift up you have to let the RPMs of the engine drop to the speed of the wheel (higher gear)s...

Just like when you down shift you need to blip the throttle to bring the engine speed UP to the speed of the wheels (lower gear).

Does that make sense?

I think you are refering to the drivetrain pop under hard shifting. You can install differential bushings that will help out with this. Check this site http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=24 This should help you out with your hard shifting.

That happens to me too when I shift fast. Don't blame yourself too hard. When you're in the act, it just flows so naturally that you don't intend it, but it happens.

I've always thought that was bad, is it?

Yea. I mean I shift fine now, when im changing gears when just cruising, I change around 3500-4300.. then let it drop a good 1000 rpms when changing ot the next gear. So how do they hard shift, I mean.. for drag racing or such, Dump it in first then bam to second without hearing that naughty popping sound. Makes me want to shoot myself in the face. Last night I went from 2nd to 3rd pretty hard, and i hear/felt the poppin sound in the back differential, not the front. Whats happing to my baby?!

Ok, its been a while, got 11500 miles on her... I bought the bushings from turninconcepts.com.
Also, I found a killer site that has the best prices of LOADS of subby parts. CRVmotorsports.com... there stuff is ALWAYS a good amount cheaper, cheaper then ebay prices Anyway.

I bought the bushings, bout an invidia N1 catback system (for like.. 475$ with shipping included... That site owns ) as well that should be coming soon.

But yes, On the website turninconcepts.com
