How do i strengthen my tranny??

w/ everyone talking about high RPM clutch drops, and frying gear teath and cluches. and ofcourse the dealer not honering my car if they deem the cars malfunction to be driver eror. how do i prevent this from happening if i drive hard on my car every day. this includes going out to the race track for a couple of runs down the 1/4 mi. every wed. any sug. would be great.

The two approaches that most people take are either replace the gears with a stronger set, or do a 6-speed swap. Replacing gears can be a good solution, but transmission case flex is still an issue with enough power, so depending on how hard you beat your transmission, it might not be enough. The various STi 6-speeds that people have used seem to be pretty bulletproof thus far, so that's another option. If you're intent on abusing your transmission (and it sounds like you are), you'd do well to set aside $2K for a new gear set or $5-6K for a 6-speed with associated differential and axles. My $0.02.

Zero Sports makes a 6-spd gear set for 5-spd case.
