Drive shaft just came out of Trany?

I had a hard time coming up the street in the snow the other day. I looked at my car this morning and the front passenger side drive shaft had about a 1 inch speration from the trany. I pulled out on my drive way and only the drive side wheel would loss traction. Is the passenger side wheel not getting any power?????
Its a 93L FWD. What would have caused this? Everything in the suspension looks fine.
