Hello,
Driveshaft lengths are the same, 2 or 4 door. As with axle lengths, the differences are minor. I laid two vastly different driveshafts side by side (MY95 2dr and MY00 4dr) and saw no difference. And at any rate, the expansion joint in the middle allows for a couple inches of difference, while if there is a difference, it's a couple millimeters at most, since I couldn't see it.

front drive shafts
Hi, i did an awd conversion on my 95L last year. The front drive shafts from my 2wd transmission did not work, the shaft size of the 2wd is smaller. Also, the 1.8 flywheel, clutch and pressure plate need to be swapped, and if you are using stock exaust, you need a different piece that goes around rear suspension. My Gas tank did need to be changed to a awd type, this also requires some slight mods to the top vents of the tank. It really isnt a bad job if you have all the parts to swap over. I used many different parts doing my conversion, some from legacy some from impreza. I can tell you i used legacy rear disk brakes, with legacy arms and sway bar, also, legacy rear diff. I just took my 1.8 out and put a 2.2 in because the 1.8 was way too underpowered, just a word of warning if you plan on using a 1.8. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Wow, see what I mean? Some people had to do way more changes than I did. Guess I was lucky! Exhaust had to change on my car, I forgot about that - I just swapped midpipe and muffler section. The part that bolts to the tranny is slightly different, I left that unbolted.
Heh, that just makes it more fun, when you discover things along the way...

Did you guys took out the transmission mounting point?
My 1994 FWD had additional piece welded onto the body that mounted the FWD tranny. It was around the rear end of the FWD tranny.
I had to cut it and bang it so that my 99RS tranny go in.
Some of it is still on my car and hitting the tranny sometimes
by the way I have 99RS tranny with cable clutch

No, my FWD tranny mount was bolted right near where the AWD tranny mounts, there was nothing welded on. I actually used a 91 legacy 5 speed, and that trans mount and crossmember lined right up to factory tapped holes, that were previously not used with the fwd trans. My car is a 95 so maybe its different.
