Exclamation Clutch Shudder Warranty...How to Get Dealer to Fix

Hello all, I am a new member here and not too sure of the etiquette involved in posting but I just wanted to let everyong know something that I found out today that should greatly help everyone that is having clutch shudder problems(who isn't). Just today(02/03/03), Subaru of America released a TSB(Technical Service Bulletin) about the clutch shudder problems. They have finally recognized the problem and have developed a fix. From my understanding, the fix involves a new clutch AND flywheel. My dealearship is currently ordering the parts from SOA and should have them in a week or two. My wife actually found this out for me as she is a salesperson at the dealership. This should make it so that all you have to do is contact the dealer and tell them that you know about the TSB and they should order the clutch and flywheel and set up an appointment for the work. Well that is all I have, if you have any other questions, just post them here or email me.

Thanks

TSB Location

Here is the address for the NHTSA web site and where you can find any and all TSBs for the WRX and any other car for that matter. The clutch/flywheel issue is not up on the site yet but soon should be and I will post the TSB number as soon as I get hold of it.

Thanks

Does it include earlier EJ25s? My '01 does the exact same thing, along with everyone else's.

EDIT: NHTSA still only shows the ignition and seat belt campaigns for '01, and only the seat belt thing for '03

Yeah, and what if you aren't under warrantee anylonger? IS this like the MAF recal on the 1999? would I be able to get a new clutch also?

So is this a warranty claim thing, or are we expected to pay for this repair? Sounds fishy to me.

Anybody have the TSB number yet? That will defuse a lot of run-around and get some more cooperation (for those of us not lucky enough to live near Santa Clara or Irvine Subaru).

Thanks for the info. Mine's going in Friday. Hopefully somebody will have the TSB bulletin by them. It's still not up on the NHTSA site.
