Exclamation clutch making nasty noise.

i have an o6 impreza with just under 10k miles
and my clutch just started making this noise everytime i press it down.
it sounds sort of like an old squeeky door but more screechy.
i hope someone knows what i mean.
and it feels weird when i press it all the way down.

i'm gonna take it to subaru so they can check it out and see if whatever it is is under warranty.

but i wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.

I get the same thing time to time, could be getting some dirt of some sort in the slave cylinder coming in through the boot. Just a guess, if its still under warranty have them figure it out.

Throw out bearing or a bushing on the clutch pedal assembly. TOB problem can happen to any car.

Throw out bearing. It basicly disengages the clutch, when they go bad they can make noise.

so i called subaru today and the service guy tells me the throwoutbearing/disk/plate is not covered under warranty.
and he also tells me it's about effing 1500usd to get it replaced.
which is a rather large amount of money.

would anyone know if this is about how much it costs for this repair?

Just get a new clutch. You're in the SRiC right? Whole thing is like 850 to 875 including labor at either Joe's Alfa and Subaru or DB tuned at least it was for my 03 which I just got the clutch done this last week. The dealership isn't AKA the stealership for nothing...they told me almost 1500 too.

had the same thing happen, it sounds like a grinding noise when you push in the clutch. it is the throw out bearing.

the dealership bs gets deep when they made me replace my clutch before they would look at a trans/front dif problem. actually kinda funny realy, they told me they had to have the clutch reapired becasue the could not tell were this noise was coming from,(the trans is what i said), so it had to be done before they went any further, so i agreed, it would have 900$ all together, but here is the good part since they had my clutch out they took out the trans also, eventhough they said the had to do the clutch first then see if the problem persisted. so with that in mind why would the take out the trans if they did not have to?????????? beacuse they knew like me what it was and jsut wanted me to get a new clutch, just to have to pay for something, the only good thing about it was since they had to drop the trans they had to take off the flywheel, that part of the labor is covered under the warranty of the trans, so insted of 900 it came out to 600, because of the way they charge for labor.
