Hey, I am think about putting some money into an torque converter. If anyone could list some benefits.. ex. hp gain, torque gain, stronger transmission, i'd greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone knows where to find one at a good price I would appreciate it greatly!

talk to scoobyboy. he was talking about a torque convertor thru ProTorque, or something like that for his rex. i wanna get one for my GC8
I've talked to my local Subaru dealer's service department about doing this on mine. I won't mention them by name lest they get a hand-slapping from corporate.
Their impression (at least on 2001-2004 WRX's) is that the TC swap is a very straightforward job and does not cause any incompatibility problems with the ECU, emissions, or drivetrain.
They did caution that it will likely hurt your gas mileage slightly, and if you make a practice of brake-torqueing the car, make sure you have enough cash on hand for a trans rebuild.
But they also said that it is, short of major engine work or a tweaked-out ECU mod, the most dramatic performance change you can make.
