Auto Tranny and VTD

I'm trying to figure out how the Variable torque distribution feature works on my Auto TS. I've read as much as I can on center differentials but can't find jack specifically on Subaru's VTD or on The center diff.

As far as I have found, it's some continuously variable clutch pack type of center diff but does someone have a link on a good explaination on the mechanics behind it? I'm looking for the nitty gritty details...

anyone want to chime in? I know there arn't many Auto Fans out there...

After some intensive internet research, i've come to realize my mistake... Not VTD on the TS... Instead of this is the "electronically controlled multi-plate transfer clutch".

Does anyone have info on this little piece of tech?
