any transmission specialist by 209 area?

was wondering if there was anyone who can help me with this particular problem on my passenger side axle. to keep it simple, it wont lock in, it will lock in without the differential retainer, but wont lock in with the retainer installed, i tried swapping Left and Right axles and its the same result, tried putting in new circlips and its the same result, heres the story.

-Installed a 05 sti tranny in my 07 wrx
-1 week later i started leaking fluids from the passenger side oil seal
tried prying the seal out like the nasioc.com guide says but it turns out only the driver side can be pryed out, the passenger side diff cover is a little scoured and chipped but it doesnt seem like it would get in the way of the axle going fully inside.
- tried removing the diff cover and sticking the axle in, sure enough it locks in place!
-with the cover back on it still does not lock in place, no matter how tight i even make the diff cover it doesnt lock in, diff cover on my passenger side only needs to be screwed in 3 1/2 turns, still leaving much thread left, if i screw it in 6 times the axle still cannot reach far enough for the circlip to expand.

can anyone help me with this problem or can come over and help diagnose this problem? i will of course pay for the labor if you can help me fix it.

please pm me or call me at 209 679 1909

I hope to (insert deity here) that you marked the covers and/or counted how many revolutions you backed 'em out by so you get the same bearing preload/pinion backlash.

Also, where's the tranny from?
Has it been molested by anyone other than you?

yea i marked the covers but sadly since i was doing my driver side my friend didnt count on the passenger side, but we did mark them, i read if you mark them just turn them till they stop and then back it off to the marking.

the transmission from gst motorsports, i bought it from an owner who got it from them, it looked to be touched because some of the splines on the cover were already missing.
